Nukes did more than end the war. When the atom split, so did reality as we knew it. Call it god, call it fate, the natural order, call it whatever you must, but know it died in the flash.

It started as bad dreams for a few misfit scientists. Then it spread. New Mexico, Japan. The Marshal Islands. Kazakhstan. Australia. Good men and women struck by madness, twisted by strange abilities, tore across the world.

The US blamed the Soviets. The Soviets did the same.

The Cold War set in, then the Red Scare. The Lavender Scare. The Gray Scare.

Now in 1954, paranoia runs deep, neighbor spies on neighbor. Everyone has a secret, and the nosey secretary just might put a spell on you.
